Actor Will Smith charmed fans and journalists in Buenos Aires on Wednesday (November 20) during a break from filming his latest project, "Focus."

Smith plays a con man in the heist film which stars an international cast including Brazilian actor Rodrigo Santoro of "300: Rise of an Empire" and "What to Expect When You're Expecting" and Australian actress, Margot Robbie from "The Wolf of Wall Street," and Australia's television series, "Neighbours."

Fans cheered as Smith arrived to the news conference in the historic San Telmo neighbourhood of the Argentine capital.

The Hollywood star addressed the crowd in Spanish.

"I am very happy to be here. It is my first time here in Argentina and I love Buenos Aires," Smith said.

The film is being directed by ""Crazy, Stupid, Love." directors, Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, who also wrote the screenplay together.

"We wanted to have a very international and luxurious setting for this crime he is about to commit down here where he is ripping off a Spanish race team owner played by Rodrigo (Santoro)," director Glenn Ficarra said.

Smith said the movie was sure to be a crowd-pleaser as he explained a little bit about his 'grifter' role and his love interest played by Robbie.

"Well, you're going to love him. He grew up in a family of con men. So, really, the story is about him breaking away from his childhood. In the business of cons where he grew up there's no room for love. So, it's the process of him learning and breaking away from the negative childhood that he had and learning to love again with the beautiful Margot Robbie," Smith said.

Filming started in Buenos Aires on November 18 and is expected to wrap here on December 9 before the cast and crew travel to New York where they are scheduled to complete filming on December 16.

The release date for the film has not yet been determined.
